A lot has been happening over the past few months for Barking Spider Visual Theatre. Following it’s very successful creative development showing, “Dispatch” was produced and performed in September 2007 in Melbourne. With full houses and rave reviews, “Dispatch” is going on to bigger and better things. In April 2008, “Dispatch” will begin further creative development and will be presented as part of the ASSITEJ Festival (Adelaide) in May 2008. In June 2007, Artistic Director Penelope Bartlau travelled to Prague to participate in the Prague Quadrennial and Scenofest. In collaboration with students from DAMU, Penelope devised, created and performed “Windows”, a short peice of visual theatre which was presented on the main Scenofest stage. In January 2008, Penelope Bartlau, Justine Warner and Dan Goronszy together created, devised and performed “Chinese Shadow Tales”, a 30-minute piece for children adapted from Chinese shadow theatre. For pictures and more information, click here.
