Chinese Shadow Tales
“Chinese Shadow Tales” was created by Barking Spider Visual Theatre for the Melbourne Immigration Museum as part of the 2008 Focus on China Children’s Festival. This was barking Spider’s first project and collaboration with the Immigration Museum. Performed by Justine Warner and Dan Goronszy, and directed by Penelope Bartlau, “Chinese Shadow Tales” was adapted from traditional Chinese folk tales, and employed techniques and forms of traditional Chinese shadow puppetry. The work premiered in January 2008, and was for children from 2-12 years of age.
