Hatch

About Hatch

“Hatch” is a new, innovative work, intermarrying several artistic disciplines. At a work-in-progress showing of “Hatch” in 2006, audiences (children, adults and international theatre guests) responded with great enthusiasm to the work. The magic and surprise in the visual telling of the story delighted and intrigued audiences. Afterwards, we were swamped by children wanting to explore the boxes and the worlds within them. The puzzle and choreography around the revealing of the worlds was engaging: one audience member commented that, “…the designer must be a card-carrying member of MENSA to pull that off”. The two intertwined stories, and the over-arching premise of the work, satisfied all.
