During the first few months of the COVID-19 lock-down, Barking Spider Visual Theatre has created Postcards from the North.

Centred around Melbourne’s inner North, the project is a series of six locative post-card artworks, inviting the reader/recipient to feel joy and delight as they share a gentle, moving, intimate short story. Each postcard is a heart-warmer, aiming to make us all feel closer and more connected.

Suggestions and ideas for the six postcards were gathered from the community online. Artists developed six different postcards through a creative mashing of the community’s images and stories. Once complete, the postcards series was delivered online through social, and also in a published postcard form free and available for the community to share.

Postcards from the North is intentionally inclusive, social and collaborative art.
